Promotional product advertising

Many people may shun too much advertising but they are not as negative when it comes to promotional product advertising. In fact, promotional advertising can be a saving grace in the world of advertising. There is too much advertising intruding in people’s daily lives from large billboards to TV commercials to radio ads to internet pop-up windows.

A recent study by Yankelovich Partners, in fact, revealed a growing disenchantment among consumers about advertising. The study found that 60% of consumers have negative sentiments about advertising. The respondents feel that there is too much advertising in their daily lives, the study added. What is quite alarming for traditional advertisers is the indication in the study that shows that consumers are looking for ways to avoid exposure to advertising altogether.

Fortunately, promotional product advertising are not regarded as negatively as other traditional forms of advertising. On the contrary, promotional advertising gifts are even welcomed by their recipients. Although these gifts may carry advertising messages or company logos, their practical use in everyday life makes them more acceptable to people who receive them.

In a sense, promotional product advertising can do much more than traditional advertising because they achieve repeated exposures for the advertisers at much lower cost compared to radio, television and print ads.

Thus, Yankelovich advises advertises to find ways to channel their efforts toward reaching specific target markets that will be more receptive to their message because the products and services that they offer are actually relevant to their needs. Advertisers are also challenged to “find ways to give back to the audiences of their marketing and advertising—there must be a give and take between the two parties.”

Promotional items in the form of advertising gifts could be the advertisers’ safest best to winning back those customers who have become so averse with advertising.

What can promotional advertising gifts do for your business?

Promotional advertising specialties and gifts are effective tools to give more exposure to your company’s brand, logo, or message. Traditional promotional items include pens, mugs, sports bags, refrigerator magnets, shirts, etc. These items are usually bought in bulk through direct suppliers or distributors and then customized to bear the company’s imprinted logo or message.

Promotional advertising gifts may be given in many ways. They may be given freely to customers, offered as a special gift offer with a purchase, reward for a business or customer referral, token of gratitude, among other reasons. Other more unique ways of giving promotional advertising gifts is by sponsoring a community or sports activity. Promotional uniforms and jackets, for example, may be given to a school baseball team. Shirts that bear the company’s logo could be distributed during a community outreach program. Or you could make an arrangement with a radio program for a simple contest about your company and give your promotional advertising gift as a prize. There are definitely more possibilities that will stretch the effectiveness of promotional advertising gifts.
